Frequently Asked Questions

Convert JPG, PNG, WebP Images & Compress

Should I use JPG, PNG or WebP?

JPG suits regular photos. PNG suits logos or images that need a transparent background. WebP files are about 25-35% smaller than JPG at similar quality, ideal for website images.

What quality should I set?

80-85% is the sweet spot where files get much smaller with almost no visible difference. For product photos that need to be very sharp, use 90%.

Why did my file get bigger after converting to PNG?

PNG is lossless, so photos converted to PNG are often several times larger than JPG. Use PNG only when you need transparency or for flat-color graphics.

What image size is right for websites?

Full-width images shouldn't be wider than 1600-2048px or larger than 200-300 KB. For images in articles, 1080-1200px is enough.
