FAQ about CTR, CPC and CPM

Understanding the basic numbers helps you fix the right thing

What's the difference between CPM, CPC and CTR?

CPM is the cost per 1,000 impressions, showing how expensive it is to reach people. CTR is the percentage of people who click after seeing your ad, showing whether your creative is interesting. CPC is the cost per click, which comes from CPM and CTR combined (CPC = CPM ÷ (CTR × 10)).

My CPC is expensive. What should I fix first?

Check whether CPM is high or CTR is low. If CTR is low, change the image, video or opening line to be more eye-catching. If CPM is high, broaden your audience, try other placements, or avoid highly competitive periods.

Lots of clicks but no sales. Why?

The problem is usually after the click: a slow website, content that doesn't match the ad, an unattractive price, or slow chat replies. Try the Website Health Check tool and make sure your Pixel is set up correctly.

How high is too high for frequency?

For ads targeting new people, if frequency goes above 3 within 7 days and CTR starts dropping, people are getting tired of the creative. Switch to new creative or broaden your audience.
