It's an audience built from your own customer list. The platform matches emails or phone numbers to user accounts, so you can advertise to past customers or use it as a seed for a Lookalike that finds new people similar to them.
Hashing means no real emails or phone numbers remain in the file. Anyone who sees it can't read the data, but the platform can still match it because it hashes user data the same way. This reduces personal data risk.
Platforms match phone numbers in international format with the country code. 0812345678 must become 66812345678. If you upload numbers with a leading 0, the match rate will be very low.
Only use data you have consent or a legal basis to use for marketing, and state in your privacy policy that data may be used for advertising. This tool reduces risk by processing locally and hashing data, but it isn't legal advice.
